Management Issues 6.1 802.16 ifType and OID assignments (Dan Romascanu) The management issue was discussed. The relationship between the assignment of ifType values and of OIDs to particular media-specific MIBs is managed by IANA. Separate application need to be filled in for the assignments of ifType values and OID node assignment. One should not assume that a media-specific MIB's OID-subtree assignment within MIB-II's 'transmission' subtree will be the same as its ifType value. It is recommended that IANA will add appropriate text in the application forms and assignment messages for ifType and OID values. 7.
