Short: Additional filetypes for the NewIcons package Author: Rod MacLean (ceerm@cee.hw.ac.uk) Type: util/wb Version: 1.0 Requires: any version of NewIcons... Architecture: m68k-amigaos Rods DefIcons.... 1/6/96 WHAT IS IT? ----------- If you use DefIcons then maybe you'll have noticed that not all image formats are recognised by the default brainfile. I attempted to add a whole load of image formats which I (or friends) needed to the standard set. Maybe a lot of them you wont need, but this set is now a bit more 'inclusive', a lot of non-native image/video formats are now included. I have also included a list of some of the more common IFF image types. These can be added to your own set if you need them. No icons are included in this archive, the contents should be... ------------------------- |deficons.i |deficonsprefs |deficonsprefs.a |build |Rods.DefIcons1.readme (this file) |build |FileTypes.Recognised ------------------------- WHERE DID IT COME FROM? ----------------------- Because of the nature of the package it was difficult to add image types in any sort of precalculated way... when something wasn't recognised I added it! Last week I also downloaded something called DefIconsUpd (another package like this). I'm afraid I can't remember who it was by, if it's you then sorry! All I got was the source code from the archive, the rest was corrupt. I added fragments of the source code from this to my own brainfile if I thought it was better in any way. I also modified the names of some of my classes to suit. WHAT ELSE IS THERE? ------------------- There is a batch file in the archive called 'build' this can be used to build a new brainfile and if the compilation is successful then the new brainfile will be copied to ENV: and ENVARC: A BIT MORE INFO --------------- Anyway, this is my first release of this brainfile, hope you like it. If you don't know how to add your own filetypes and would like me to do it or if you can think of better ways to recognise the filetypes then you can email me at: R.MacLean@hw.ac.uk or ceerm@cee.hw.ac.uk You can also visit my hompage at http://www.cee.hw.ac.uk/~ceerm Check out the Sean Connery section!! Hope this is of some use to someone!!
